Important! Minimize

All churches are required to bring three forms to the event.

First, the participating church MUST have signed the "Event Participation Agreement". If your church has already signed the Event Participation agreement, they are not required to bring one. Churches who have signed the Event Participation Agreement are listed in the "Forms" section.

Second, all adult volunteers MUST bring a signed "Day Event Volunteer Application". We will have extra forms at the event, but please bring a signed copy at registration.

Third, all participants MUST have a signed medical release form from their parent/guardian. A SAMPLE release form is below--check with your church to see what they require. A student WILL NOT be allowed to participate without this form!

Media Release Form

We will be having the Trek/Journey State Championshps filmed and photographed for the AwanaTexas website. Due to Awana policies, all minors in photographs on Awana websites must have a completed and signed Media Release Form (see below). All participants for the Trek/Journey State Championships must have a signed form turned in at check-in along with the Medical Release Form.

No idenitfying labels will be used on the website (i.e., "This is Johnny from First Baptist"). Photos will strictly be generic and used only by the Awana Missionaries to promote the event to clubs who don't normally participate.

If you have a parent who will not sign the Media Release and will not allow their child's photo on the AwanaTexas website, please contact Taylor Lassiter at TaylorL@awana.org.

For a downloadable copy of the Media Release Form, scoll to the "Event Foms" box and click on the red link. It should open a pop-up window with the form in a .pdf format. Thanks!

Citation Achiever Recognition Minimize

The Texas Awana Missionaries have decided not to do a "Banquet" for Citation Achievers for the evening event. Instead, we've decided to recognize those who have earned/will earn their Citation this year at the event immediately following the Bible Quiz on Saturday morning before the AwanaGames portion begins.

Please complete the form for the Citation Achiever Bio and submit it by Friday, February 26th! If your students have their Citation Award in their possession, please bring it to the event so we can get some great pictures! If students are waiting to recieve their Citation Award at Summit or the end of the year ceremony and do not have it with them, that is OK. Just fill out the bio form anyway, and we look forward to congratulating our Citation Achievers for their 10 years of hard work and excellence!

Beaudin to Keynote Minimize

Josh Beaudin of New Tribes Missions to be keynote speaker at the Trek/Journey State Championships on March 5-6!

Josh started as an Awana Cubbie.  A big part of him coming to trust Christ as His Sin-Bearer was the witness of his older sister, beginning when she was just a 6 year old Sparky (1 Peter 2:24)!  He went all the way through the High School Awana program, earning his Citation Award in 2001.  His parents were Awana Missionaries in Idaho/Oregon for 12½ yrs, starting when he was in Jr. High.  During an Awana missions trip to Zimbabwe, he was greatly impacted as he experienced how God can use even the life of a young person to further His kingdom, when that life is made available to Him.  In 2002 while attending Ecola Bible School on the Oregon coast, God burdened Josh’s heart to be a part of taking the gospel to unreached tribes around the world.  As he sought where to begin, God led him to New Tribes Mission.  He spent the next 4 years going through NTM’s intensive training course, preparing to do cross-cultural church planting with indigenous people groups.

Josh and Shannah met in Idaho in 2006 and were married on December 31, 2009.  They love to sing together and lead others in worshipping the Lord Jesus through music.  They also both love to spend time in the great outdoors!  Currently Josh is serving as a missionary with NTM USA, and Shannah is completing her NTM training, after which they plan to move overseas.  With over 2,500 tribes in the world still isolated from any exposure to God’s Word, Josh and Shannah plan to be a part of reaching one of those tribes (or many).  They welcome the opportunity to visit with you in March and would love to share how you can be a part of Expanding the Reach of the Gospel to unreached tribes around the world!
